My Experience:
My experience allowed me to delve into European housing policy through my classes and an independent research project. For one of my final papers, I researched the Berlin rent cap, one of the city's recent attempts to lower rising housing prices. I also began conducting a comparative research project for my urban studies thesis on community land trusts. I was able to attend the first-ever Community Land Trust Network summit in Berlin and visit land trusts throughout Europe.
Other Highlights:
-
Attending the Community Land Trust Network summit in Berlin
-
Purchasing a bike and using it to explore Berlin's beautiful nature
-
Spending time with my German family
