Alina is a third-year student studying Health & Societies with a concentration in Health Care Markets & Finance. She's thrilled to spend next semester learning about comparative healthcare systems in four different locations (DC, India, South Africa, and Argentina) through the SIT IHP Health & Community program. Born & raised in Pittsburgh, Alina is excited to venture outside of Pennsylvania and finally travel internationally! In her free time, she enjoys engaging with student clubs, visiting history museums, and watching horror movies.
During her upcoming semester, she is looking forward to:
- Bonding with her host families and student cohort
- Trying the food & learning how to cook staple dishes
- Engaging in healthcare delivery field visits and grassroots research
- Critically analyzing the costs, access, and quality of healthcare in each location, and how that can inform US policy
- Documenting her entire experience through writing, photography, & videography
